Lake Grace’s “Cake Lady”, Pam Lannin, started one Christmas with a few cakes being made for family and friends. The recipe Pam uses has been adapted from an old family recipe that has been passed down through the generations.
Demand for these traditional, handmade cakes steadily increased over the next five years and sales have increased through fairs, select stores and a growing number of corporate orders. Over one thousand cakes were distributed last year.
The business has now expanded to include other edible gifts such as Panforte, Almond and Pistachio Crisp Breads, Decorated Honey Biscuits, French Macarons, Meringue Cases and Christmas Fruit Puddings. Products are now being sent Australia wide.
We also continues to meet the demand for wedding and other celebration cakes and biscuits within Western Australia.
Pam is a qualified cake decorator, and has been involved in teaching within the catering industry for over 40 years. In 2008 Pam has moved to Perth and now operates from a commercial kitchen in the Mundaring Shire. This change now means we are better able to meet customer demands.
